locking hubs for d60

Not sure, but they are supposed to be the strongest locking hub for 30 spline stuff. They are pretty beefy inside.

The Spicer hub can be more difficult to turn than other aftermarket hubs, especially if neglected. Most of the knobs I've seen broken were because the user turned them with pliers and twisted the center out.

(I realize my pm stated "all steel construction", I was referring to the internal gears. The knob itself is indeed plastic.)

Chalk up another Spicer lover. As stated, the internals have more beef than any aftermarket lockout.

Spicers are the best and if you upgrade to 35 spl you can have the internal gear broached out to 35 spl and keep you same hubs and they will still be strong as hell. Warn 35spl hubs suck, broached Spicers are the only way to run hubs on a 35spl and still have strength and not pay out the nose for Dynatracs.

I run Spicer hubs on all my trucks...........time tested......and never fail. The gears are all STEEL..............newer made hubs have pot metal crap inside them..(IMO).

The secret to these hubs is DO NOT TO OVER GREASE...the internal gears...........otherwise in winter time grease hardends up....causing the knob to turn hard....or not to turn at all......so guys use pliers and end up busting the plastic dial on the inside.............and I've only ever seen this happen on the large Dana HD44 hub's....since their knob design is different than the smaller 1/2 ton....and 1 ton dana 60 knobs.

You can get NOS Dana spicer hub parts on ebay.......though they tend not to be cheap........NOS dana 60 knobs run 60/70 pair

I have the Warn HD ones and they have been flawless. However, those Dynatrac ones look to be very good and I may try them soon. Depends on your wallet I suppose...

I have a set of Spicers.:D

You may convince me to sell'em when ya come pickup your new 60.

So what would have been stock on a '86 Chevy K30? All I know is mine work, they stick out a LOT, and they're coated in about 3 coats of black CARC paint.
