lockouts

ok i have a 90 k5 with auto lockers in front axle. i want to replace them with autos if not then plan old lock out my question is y does the autos have 5 locking nuts on the outside and the manuals have 6???

The manuals replace all the inner working parts as well and they just have 6 screws. Replace them with manuals The autos are known to be unreliable.
