THe only thing in there other than dash and door panels is a driver seat. Im getting ready to LINE X the inside. Man what a chore that was. They used a gallon of tar on each wheel well. The rest cleaned up pretty nicely. The wheel wells took the most time. SO, hopefully next weekend I can drop it off or sooner. Ill take some pics of B4 and after. Im pretty excited about it to tell you the truth.

I took the Blazer for a drive to vacuum out all the crap from the tear down. It was kinda neat driving with just a drivers seat. The sound wasnt that bad and the floor boards were not that hot. THey felt warm, but I could put my feet or hands on them. The sound is louder for sure. lol. YOu can hear and feel every thing the motor is doing too. lol.

oh well. thought id share. :D

I don't know whether or not you are planning to put carpet back in or not, but I line-x'd my interior, firewall, underneath my wheelwells, and it basically made the inside of my truck a speaker box. It was so loud afterwards, that I have to throw stuff inside just to dampen the sound.

herculiner is 450 bucks cheaper...

Sure is:deal:, maybe more. Herc rolls and brushes on nice imo. Got another gallon waiting for a sunny stretch. I "payed" for my pickup. Ill never do that again:doah:, not for something like that.

X2 on the wheel well tar.

Nah, you gotta do it REDNECK style...

I only did that to move it in and out of the garage while I replaced that front quarter, as I imagine the 5-gallon bucket doesn't meet any sort of crash requirements :haha:

I have had "bucket seats" like that before. Gotta love it!

Amen brother! I Herc'ed the whole inside of mine a couple of years ago and my ears are still ringing . I don't know how some guys drive theirs on the road at all with only bedliner. The first time a rock jumped up in the fenderwell I thought I was being shot at and ducked and almost ran off the road! It's been parked for "reconstruction" since then and I am definitely putting carpet or vinyl back in it.
Maybe the thicker stuff like Rhino or LX deadens the sound a little better, IDK. If mine was a trailer to the trail truck it would be fine, but on the road it really sucked!

I would definitely like to know about how to keep the sound low after lining the floorboard... This is a project I have lined up and I'd like to do it right before I throw down some herculiner.

ttt

would bits of carpet from a carpet place work. like could i sut up some cheap carpet, and set it in there? or would it have to be "glued" down to be effective?

O please I ran both my toyota and my chevy with herculined floors. Its the only way to go. I drive it everyday and deal with the noise. Turn up the stereo ladies :D

But yeah in all seriousness it makes ticks and sounds coming from your trans/case sound 100times louder.

My blazer has nothing on the floors.. bare metal. Not too loud at all, don't even notice it without the top on. Mines not my DD though.

Same here I gutted mine and drove it 130 miles to Truckhaven and drove home. Not too loud at all but then again I have a big hole where my heater used to be in the firewall and I always drive with the windows down:D
