ROFLMFAO. I don't know how many broken windshields i've received due to someone given her hell with a chain between us. My buddy bought a 120,000# strap at farm n home and you can pull out anything with it. Get a little run at it and out she comes.

Apparently he has never seen a chain break. Maybe someone should show him this video and ask him which vehicle received more damage, the one in the video he posted of a strap breaking or the following:

i've broken both. i still carry a chain but it's just for backup. straps first.
I've seen chains break. I've never seen a strap break, but I’ve seen my tow hook break off and fly over someone's pickup while using a strap. Straps are great as long the strap is hooked up to something solid other wise it is a big rubber band. I saw a picture of a clevis hooked up to a strap go though the rear window and the driver’s HEADREST on a jeep.
I use a strap with no hooks. If the strap breaks then there is no metal objects flying.

That just screams retarded.
I have broke both as well. I use cains most often but I NEVER jerk on them, smooth constant pull. Also I always put a floor mat on, chain or strap. We used "recovery ropes" for semis but they are near 4" around, they streach almost double and are rated for 80k lbs.
