I started designing these today. I love having AutoCAD at home :D I'm setting them up to incorporate a tank skid plate and pickup the stock tank skidplate mounting points, the front body mount, and the forward rear spring hanger.

I dont own an old truck, just blazers, but it sounds solid and well designed.:pimp: Obviously this isnt a show truck, but what about the box twisting? I can remember the bed gettin pretty contorted. But I guess this slider might stiffen and reduce that fairly well. Keep it coming.:smile1:

It will basically be mounted to the frame and tank brackets. Free from the cab and bed as much as possible. Worse that may happen would be the body contacting the slider.

looks like a cool idea kenny. I am always interested in a finding a functional slider design for longbeds.

Going to be working on building the actual thing on Saturday. I could always use an extra hand ;)

heres a thread necro for ya!

i dont suppose you ever got anywhere with these sliders did you?

Not yet, the truck they were being built for was totaled. I still have the material though and another truck that can use them. I will probably look into it again this summer.
