Hey guys looking for some feedback on other peoples ventures in this area as far as driveshaft/pinion angle go, and how you went about correcting it.

I have an 85 cucv m1008 (srw lwb k30), and plan on installing a set of 6" leaf springs up front, and using a combination of shackle flip using spring hangers, with a zero rate. My question is for those with a shackle flip, what was your resulting pinion angle and how did you correct it? Also what would you guys recommend for the rear lift somewhat on a budget? I might even back off to 4 or 5" of lift.

I did an ORD 4" shackle flip on a longbed pickup and just left the perches stock. No problems whatsoever.

When you do a shackle flip you are also automatically tilting the pinion up slightly - for a 4"-5" lift on a longbed you'll be fine.

On my longbed I run a ORD 4" shackle flip, with 3" TC springs, the overload springs taken out and replaced with a zero rate to move the axle back 1.5". I had to shim my pinion up 3 degrees when I had the NP208. If I had to do it again I would have gone with a 4 inch lift 56" springs with the shackle flip. More flex is always a good thing :thumb:
