hey guys, im wondering what factory combo would have the longest stock front driveshaft with a flange at the t-case? im thinking it might be th400/208 but im not sure. how much longer would that be than the 700r4/208 combo i have now? i thought i had a site bookmarked that had all the lengths and everything, but cant seem to find it anymore:doah:.

thanks for the help guys

really? hmm. trying to find a cheap alternative to lengthening my stocker (which would probably need new splines or some bs) or upgrading for now. dont have the money at this point for HAD shaft, which is what i really need for the articulation, but at this point i just want to be able to have 4wd on the street when it snows.

crap well looks like im gona need to figure something else out then haha. how do the IFS trucks compare to the solid axle ones? i guess they might be shorter.

theres no slip on those front ones.

can you put a regular 1410 yoke on the tcase and make a square shaft?

I have no idea. My "expertise" does not lie within the IFS trucks.

how long does it need to be?

dig deep and remember that superduty front shaft you sold me? that was around 44"
you can mill your flange flat and with some work bolt that right on. its even 1350 at the pinion.

it really only needs to be 2-3" longer than the stock shaft, but when flexing it'd need more. i had planned to build a square shaft with 1480 joints and had all the yokes and every ready to go, but ended up selling it all last year because the truck was going to be sitting and not seeing any action, wish i hadn't. ive got both 1350 and 1410 yokes i could put onto the d60. i guess ill have to do some research and see what i can find, for a cheap fix. i thought about one of those 1" spacers, but that will make the angle worse.

Um unless i missed something the bell to tail shaft are the same on the 700/208/241 and the like wise 400. :dunno:

Measure your length and get back to us; I have a few longer than stock front drivelines, maybe one will work for you.

Oh, and the IFS trucks don't have CV joints, but do have slip yokes.
