Look what I can get for $2500.00 bucks

That's a good deal @ 2500.00. I had a 97 ext cab diesel, it ran/rode well. For some reason the overloads both rotated the same direction after a lot of hard work. Consider heavier/stronger shocks for the front if it's a big block. The front hubs are a pain to convert to manual if there are only three retaining screws for the hub. You have to get a conversion kit to the more popular six screw setup. Just a thought, it looks like there is not a receiver hitch, see if there used to be one and check the wiring.

OK, whats a full floater??

It means the axles are only responsible for turning the wheels and do not support the weight of the vehicle like a semi floater does. Alot less stress on the axle and the design eliminates one weak link in the system so it can suppord heavier loads.

At least that is my definition of a full floater :) Other opinions may vary ;)

i say if you can afford it, get it. just dont do any mods to it. leave it stock.

My dad has a '96 F-150, and to our surprise the rear spring shackle and bracket TOTALLY rusted out on both sides.:eek1: I know you arent from the "rust belt" but I'd still check to see what kind of shape they are in. The Ford dealership told us that they sell about 3-5 of these new shackle "kits" PER DAY!:eek1: and iirc it was around $275 for everything.

Other than that (and the TTB), its a good truck. 4.9L with the Mazdog 5 speed.

nobody around here owns fords....they own ferds ;)

blasphemy

get that pice of **** out of here... This a GM site :)

Ya know the guy is looking for advice to buy this truck not some smartass comment from other people that are so closed minded that they cant see the good things in another brand of vehicle...

That being said it has the Dana 50 TTB front and 10.25 Sterling rear... Either has the 351 or 460 motor.. Too bad it doesnt have a 7.3 Stroker, last diesel from Ford that was worth anything.. Other than the TTB being kind of funky Id get that truck, they are good trucks ;)

my cousin has a ford like that and he had to rebuild everything, motor trans and t-case!!! buthell it took them a week to do it and do it on the way to tampa bay!!LOL

My fathers shop truck is a 95 f350 with a straight 60 up front and a 460auto. I dont usually like ferds with the exception of a ranger but my dad and the guys in the shop beat the piss outa that truck from day to day and it is still running like a champ. Sure its only got 66000 on the od but they pull fullsize school buses across town with the thing and they plow like no tomorrow with it in the winter. Ide say go ahead and buy it man, its a good looking truck.

I have a 88 F250 SC. 460/5 speed, 4wd. Runs great, pulls anything I want. 8' utility box on the back. Mileage varies tween 11-14. Do not tow in OD, according to the owners manual. Be aware that these have a history of puking the clutch interlock start switch. Also some issues with the tank switches. I say get it!!!!!! BTW, mine is 8800 lbs GVW.:D
