well, this morning i had these delivered from about 250miles away. they cost me 1400 but are out of an 84CUCV with a detroit in the 14FF and 4.56 gears in both. only thing wrong is that one of the hubs had a bolt missing and water got in there and f'd up the hub. anyways, here's what we got done on the D60 so far today, pulled apart, cleaned, wire brushed, primed and started painting and it got dark. o well, enjoy...

the self etching primer that i used was awesome!!!!!

haha, thanks. i've been waiting for a while to get them. finally found someone semi-locally. now i just need my steering and tires.....but atleast i got the big difficult thing out of the way. haha. you guys will see a build thread in a month or two.

awsome.. will be looking out for it, im lookin for a d60 front for my truck too.. in a couple of months..

cool score, only thing about the 84', 85' year 14 FF's is they have the small pinion support bearing. GM went back to the big bearing in 86', previous years had the big bearing aswell. the bigger bearing axles are a bit better just based on that. I have an 85' 14FF going in my 73' K5.

I did not know this info before I worked all most 5 hours in 95 deg. heat by myself to pull my axle out of a truck in the junk yard. its a long story and I had a hell of a time getting it out but I wont go into that. had I known I would have passed, but ohwell its going in now.
