... a Blazer Pic from this year's Baja 1000

Very cool. Sure looks pretty stock! barly a lift on that thing, small tires, no trimming sheet metal except the front fender. I do see a cage ofcourse per Score rules.

Has that got a link suspension up front? Coilover? Whats with the bar behind the front tire. Can't be a leaf spring.

I don't think they're allowed link suspension in a stock-ish class.

I saw the website too, didn't see info on the Blazer.

I'm having a hard time figuring out if/where they finished the race.

For a big race like the 1000, they sure hide everything well on the interweb for the casually interested...

Even just trying to figure out which SCORE class is what takes too many clicks for my level of patience and interest.

The K5 didn't finish within the allotted 53 hours due to engine troubles. That was last years YOLO entry. They're a local group (YOLO=You Only Live Once) that fielded a bug for this years race...

The way it was listed gave the impression it was a pic from the 2008 race...

See why I'm only casually interested in this stuff?

iirc there is someone on here who ran in it and someone on here who works on one of the rides out there....cant remeber there names...id love to do that 1 day

That's Raffo racing I think you're thinking of. Plus there is a guy here building a first Gen for the Baja too...

Michael, the side bar on their website has a menu on the left side of the page indicating 2007 for the K5. I'm guessing they spend more time building and racing then they do on website content and ease of navigation. The site is very sparse on info...almost a waste of a domain name IMO.

I only know of YOLO racing because of a story in the local paper I read a few days ago. They're a group of guys from the Vancouver area, and did the Bug for this years race.

Rene, I picked the picture of the K5 off of www.dirtnewz.com - the only place where I could find results from this year's race - and it was listed under 'race photos'.

In any case, I thought (a) it was a cool looking K5, and (b) I'm annoyed as to how many hoops I have to jump thru to find news, results, and info on the race. I'll start looking again next November...

blazers in the 1000

I have my update on my website for the race. www.rafforacing.com For those that have a specific interest in desert racing check out www.class3racing.com The earlier post about a 69 k5 being build is correct. All of the build pictures are on the website. It looks like the next race we will do is the Mint 400 in March of 09. We could have used some more chase truck in the 1000. The Bronco guys show up in force, how about some K5ers?
