383 th400/205 with 3/4 ton axles and 4" lift.. lift, steering shocks, new drive shafts were put in and the truck was parked. looking at it with a friend. he is after the 383 th400/205.

so bringing some new line to run into a gas can with fresh fuel. oil, atf. what else should we look at before we turn it over? thanks

Might want to bring a fresh battery, one with top and side post just in case the cables have been swapped. Some antifreeze would be good too with a few extra gallons of water in case none is available.

I assume you mean a tank of gas to hook up.
Pull the plugs and put some oil in the cylinders. Turn crank by using a ratchet first back and forth. once you can turn a couple revolutions that way, then use a fresh battery and crank with starter. Then install fresh plugs, spray some starter fluid in the barrel and crank. you should have betta luck to turn over this way. . this is what I did to crank up a jeep that sat for 6 years.

Its pretty much of what i would think of, check the belts???cracked fuel lines?? you just want to turn the engine right.

didnt even get there today. got to talk to him. trucks been off the road for a 8 years. was started are run around the yard a bit. was about a year ago was the last time..

8 years of sitting is a long time.Anything that is rubber check it out.Valve seals can go bad.Trans seals can dry and it wont shift properly or get gears.I would pull the oil plug for a sec and check for coolant or water.
