I had a lead on one the other day but it was sold before I got back. In Upstate NY.

I scarf them up when I can . and I haven't seen any good ones in a bit .

will keep my eye open for you .

I appreciate that. I screwed up, I found one at Carlisle last weekend but didn't have enough room. Complete inner and out fenders, complete harness, ac/oil cooler, battery mounts and complete grille, core etc for $225

if you already have 81-up nose all you need is the core support its self . sheet metal is the same .

wiring pig tails if not there and headlight parts not there are easy to grab from vans with same setup . even the grill center will swap over with tiny mod.

I have a 91 (2 headlight) and a 87 4 headlight. I haven't found a van setup yet either. Do I need to modify the 87 wiring harness?

The core support I can buy from LMC and then buy the grille and light supports?

yep just the support and all light parts with it .

grill can be chevy or gmc . just need the headlight bezels for the specific grill you want . chevy to chevy and gmc to gmc.

and for headlights / buckets and parts and pigtails vans are good for these parts . lots of guys prefer to solder wires to the headlights from the crappy cheep corrosion prone pin setup from stock .

just unbolt the support and swap it for the 89-91 unit from a crew cab / blazer / suburban . :thumb: then the wiring harness I just cut / soldered the pig tails on my 87-down harness. as the firewall plug is different on 89-91 quad light and wont fit.

I know that about the 89-91 harness, I have my '90 (2 headlight) all unbolted and ready to sell. Am I wrong thinking that the $225 they wanted for the other wasn't a good deal?

all that stuff I would have grabbed it .

and fyi I have had a replacement NON gm core support . . . paper thin and 1/2 the weight .

I would grab gm if you can .

Man I wanted to, but I had my '10 Yukon packed with crap and tried finding a trailer over at the Uhaul and they didn't have any. I was a little unprepared. It was the first I been to Carlisle Spring Swap in 12 years. I have a ton of stuff that I will likely bring with me to the Truck Carlisle in August though. Figure that I load up a trailer and sell stuff...and then load up a trailer with all of the stuff that I just bought. Win, win till I get home with it. :D

I stopped at the local dealership for the core support pricing and avail. They told me that they are unavailable due to age. Then looking online it seems to be the case. Do you know of a source for new or were you referring to a use one?

and they are pretty reasonable, but I have no idea of quality.

there is a little surface rust where GM didn't paint it but it's in great shape. the grill has a small crack in it and the chrome is bubbling in a few places

these do ship under max size rules ups . I have done it .

also look in to bus shipping . can be a lot cheeper but takes longer and need to pick up at local terminal station to you .

It looks good, let me know asap because I did find one, but it don't have all of the grille, so yours would be better for me and I have not bought it yet.

Freight co. wants 462.65 for shipping, UPS wants 192.90 shipping plus cost of crate to protect grill.
