anyone recommend a vinyl floor for a 87 K5?

Wife road in truck yesterday and was not happy with heat coming from floor since it is just bed lined.

Also do the come with insulation on them all ready?

Anything I should be adware of going into doing this?

Missing few interior pieces so guess I might have to come up with few ideas when reach that point.

I used vinyl flooring from lmc. Fit is ok, have to cut the openings for bolts and 4wd shifter. I got it without insulation, since the insulation would hold water if it got wet. Used the radiant barrier insulation from lowes or Home Depot underneath instead. In the rear, I used a truck bed mat since it is thicker and cheaper than the rear vinyl kit along with the radiant insulation.

I am literally in the middle of installing the lmc vinyl floors and am very disappointed. I have two layers of heat/sound insulation(it’s 1/4 thick) plus the two pieces of jute that come with the kit( laughable pieces). It’s barley molded to fit your truck. The front vinyl doesn’t match the rear vinyl. Different thickness and texture. Buyer beware.

I did the LMC rubber floor in my crew cab. It also fit very poorly.

i actually ran universal bed mat in the K5... you can run a nice big flat piece on the ds and ps from the bottom of the firewall to under the seat... obviously you can't do the hump.. but i found it pretty effective for heat and noise...

All of you who dislike the parts you bought from LMC, what brand was it?

Generally speaking ACC is the go to for out flooring in these trucks.

I got my vinyl floor from Rockauto and it was ACC. The fit was ok, not great. I had to trim front section several times to get it right. And I had to use a heat gun and gloves to get it where it sat nice. Even after having it in the sun for a while, it didn't loose its shape. Both sections matched well.
And I did use the tunnel shield after @mrk5 told about his experience. I put more insulation on the inside too. I like how cool my floor is!

I don’t know what brand it was it had no labeling. And didn’t specify on the order receipt. I also let it sit in the sun then let it lay in the truck under two straight days of sun and it still fits like crap.

I used an ACC kit and it was beyond horrible. No amount of trimming poking and heat gun molding could get it right. I even went to a auto upholstery shop I coworker is friends with for advice. He couldn’t even get it in right.

I’m gonna post pics in my build thread later this afternoon.

I’ve personally installed a few different types of the vinyl flooring. Quality stuff is super easy to cut and install. Be sure to try a few pieces out before you commit to it. As a general rule of thumb – the thicker you go the higher the cost, but better fit and feel to walk on. I’d caution using it on any concrete basement flooring due to the feel. Find more tips on https://www.festfloor.eu/ . Hope it helps.
