HI guys I am lookng for a frame dimension on a 72 k5. I am looking to make a new engine cross member but was wondering if anyone could measure or knew what the frame dimension is for the C part of the frame. Thanks Denny

hey there i am working on my 72 k5 as well, i can get you some measurements when i get home tonight. i take it if you are fabing an engine support you need the dimentions for that? or in that area let me know which.

The height of the C varies depending on where on the frame you measure.... it's tallest in the center, and gets narrower at both ends.
This should at least get you started for overall dimensioning. Odds are good that a 40-year old frame has been tweaked a few times, so it's always interesting to compare "actual" numbers to the factory spec.

Greg that's awesome. I didn't know it varied so much across the length of the frame. When I had my inboard mount made for my rear shocks I used 32 inches to span the frame rails. I'm glad mine was close to spec.
