I need to rebuild my throttle body and it's on my mud toy and I was planning to get one of those spacer with the adjustable regulator and pressure gauge and all the gaskets of course if any of you know where I can get one it would be greatly appreciated

im in the same boat- bearings on shaft are worn. I had Vic Morse do mine last time, but he passed away.

Are they bushings or bearings? Only reason I ask is that the Q-jets were neither, but when repaired it was a bushing that was installed.

If it's a bushing or bearing, someone has to do it. Can't be that tough with the correct reamer(?).

i was looking at buying a reamer a while back- lost all that info though, and how many of these things am i Really going to be rebuilding...
i believe Vic put bronze bushings in mine, but they were really thin to begin with and are worn now. I believe that in stock form, the shaft just turns against the aluminum casting??

The Q-jets were just shaft on pot metal, I wouldn't be surprised if TBI was the same way. I wonder if maybe shaft diameter is the same.

I think I have a reamer to do the Q-jets somewhere, but good luck finding it lol.

I was considering these guys:

Vic did mine too. I think those SPR guys can do it. They are the go to guys in the East coast anyway. Vic was the guy for the West coast.

Years back, CFM Tech rebuilt mine. It has served me well for at least 17 yrs.
I cleaned the injectors a couple weeks ago. Nice pattern, no drips, nothing loose or leaky looking. I guess I'm still good to go.

One problem I saw on their web site is that they have no cores to rebuild. You have to send them your core to rebuild if you want one.

I was going to recommend contacting Brian Harris at Harris Performance and see who he's recommending now that Morse is gone, but I see on his web page he likes SPR. I wasn't really impressed with CFM, they have a limited product line and won't do any custom work. I've never used SPR, but will the next time I'm needing something. Sure makes you miss having Vic Morse around....

I was looking at a couple of the companies that rebuild and modify TBI's, and they all say they are out of TBI cores to rebuild, and that you need to send in your own TBI if you want it rebuilt and modified.
