Me and my wife are looking for a BEACHMASTER UNIT 2, Gulf War / Desert Storm survivor. My wife's resently started paying for her first demiled 5 ton army truck, and the truck she's buying is kinda rare I'm guessing, and we need a little help filling in the blanks on this truck. What it was used for and what its main roll was. If there's any body that's willing to talk to us we would love to talk to you over the phone. I orignally thought there where a 100 or so built but I'm starting to think more like only a few dozen.

Here's a link to the page on steel soldiers where we are both members and they don't have that much info on it.

The truck will have a modification plate somewhere. It will tell you what was done to it to make it different from a 'stock' 5 ton. Maybe then you can guess as to what it was used for.

That is a BadASS Truck. A larger version of the Radio CUCV my Dad Has. Ill Call my Father Tonight he was in Desert Storm and Still talks to alot of guys from his Unit.

Talked to Dad.

He Said the Beachmaster units were attached to a unit of SeaBee's (Combat engineers) most of the time. They would land on the Beachfront first and secure it and prepare it for other landing craft. The 5 Tons would carry Marines and Equipment to prepare the beach front.

Thats what he told me.

Well that conferms my info I was already told, so we have made some progress.
