Looking for a roll bar

why don't you have a real funtional one made up ditch that DUKES OF HAZARD lookin ' one :haha:
Because Daisy is just THAT HOT

It's a "show" bar,not a "roll" bar!..

That would probably not be a legit "roll bar",it's more likely a "show bar" that is meant to hold lights more than anything..though I have seen a few that were real roll bars, that also had a platform you could bolt a small winch onto,to pull heavy items into your truck's bed..

I have seen a bar like yours in a local boneyard,in an old Dodge stepside pickup..probably no better shape than yours, and it might not be there any more--things dissapearing fast now that scrap prices are high..:(

I last saw one like yours for sale at Thompson Speedway's swap meet--in fact, someone LEFT it near piles of other stuff near the trash cans!--I was tempted to grab it,but my stepside has a toolbox,my bed is 8' long, but adding that bar AND a toolbox would leave about 4 feet of useable bed space!..so I left it there--and it was in nice shape too--so was the antique "Clinton" horizontal shaft engine someone left in the scrap pile, complete down to its air cleaner..had I not been exhausted, and parked 1/2 mile away,I'd have taken both home with me!..:doah:

I'd say JC Whitney still has them--might ask at "Pep Boys" too--they seem to be able to get more "add on" accessories than most any other store around this area..a place in Fall River called "Tuff-Stuff" used to carry them( a 4x4 speed shop of sorts)--but its been years since I bought anything there--not sure if they are still in bussiness or not.."Yankee Custom" is another place you might try too..

i know they are mostly show, but in a roll over, i would think they would be a little better than nothing right? eventhough they dont go to the frame, just the bed.

Yup--better than nothin!

I' rather have anything there than nothing,if my truck goes over!..even poorly built home brewed "roll bars" made of exhaust tubing or plumbing pipe is better than NO protection..but not a substitute for a "real" roll bar if you plan of off roading..I've seen some made of schedule 40 pipe that held up well in a rollover in a sand pit before..

Till it busts off the bed floor, crumples, goes thru the back window and stabs ya in the neck............ repeatedly........ :wink1:

a roll bar is suppose to carry 3 times the vehicles weight, that is a light bar. well thats what my auto tech teacher told me so i ditched mine!!LOL

You are right it is not meant for real protection, its really just for show and a nice place to mount my KC Daylighters ;). I like how it looks, its a classic style like pimped out vans with leoperd print shag rug and disco balls in the back (they will make a come back!) :D

Anyway I did find a bar on e-bay but its black and I like the chrome. I meant who doesn't like shiny stuff? :eek1:
Well actually I'd prefer going stainless, because just yesterday's flurries brought out the sanders in my town, so now the roads and my truck are covered in salt.
I swear all this salt has to be bad for the environment in some way. You can see pine trees on the side of the highway that have turned brown because of all the salt. Not that I didn't just get way off topic or anything...

thats why my truck is sitting in the yard for the winter...

plus my steering box fell out:mad:

i have a black roll bar but i think it's in worse shape then yours... the bottom rotted off of it and broke when i went wheelin...
