hey, awhile ago I was reading a magazine that had a chart that listed exactly to how to build a engine for torque, horse power, or a good combination...

for some reason I am unable to find the magazine, and I am wondering if somebody could scan that page for me and post a link somewhere???

You remember what mag it was in? I subscribe to most of the main ones minus Hot Rod (cause they suck).

My best bet is figure out what you want to build enginewise.. 350, 383, 454, etc. and figure out what you can afford for heads and what compression you want. Most of the rest lies in the came which I would recomend you pick a manufacturer and call their cam line. Most are excellent!

it was one of the truck mags... but man I don't have any idea which one it was, but I was going through it since I joined CK5 so it has to be in the last 6 months... I'm gonna look through my mags again and see if I get lucky somewhere.

4x4 power did a buildup on a 383 for a K5 for all around use.
This was before 4wheeler took them over.
Also they did have a article about what you are looking for but its been about a year or so since i remember it.
