Does any one on here have a good thread or know of one where the builder of the truck restored the engine bay back completely original.

I'm talking factory wiring routes, a/c lines, cast iron intake, quadrajet carb, factory air cleaner, heat risers, Evap lines etc..... Basically the whole shooting match.

Got a customer that swapped a 454 into a K5 and wants it to look as original as possible, more of a show truck than a wheeler but the guy is picky about details and has deep pockets so I'll play along.

Down side is he declined letting me post pics on here so you fellers just have to use your imagination lol honestly it's nothing special right now, outside is in primer and the interior is gutted so it looks crappy anyway.

And this thing is a 78 K5, so TBI builds aren't really helpful, I'd say 84 and earlier would be the best

Thanks in advance

Thanks, the factory ac compressor brackets are similar on the mounting location and the wires look like they primarily run down the passenger side of the intake like I was thinking.

That build is long, and allot of body stuff lol but pretty helpful

I have a stock 87 pickup and 90 Blazer with a small block and a stock 89 Crew with a big block I can take pictures if you can tell me specifically what you need.

If those are all TBI trucks I think they'll be too different to be very helpful but thanks for the offer

Thanks guys, it's all very helpful

My '76 is completely stock. It's dirty and surfacerusty but it's all there. I can take pics if you want of whatever you want to see. It even has the factory cruise control linkages all there although they quit working a few decades ago.

so............whats up with this....seems like a decent bit of info has been posted for ya?
