I am use to using a grey transmission jack like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/GRAY-HTJ-100..._Tools&vxp=mtr

well digging around I found what looks like same unit under different name and color 2 times.

any feedback on these over the grey unit ?

I am not against grey in anyway . but home play pen shop I am trying to maximize my money for good products to fill it .

thanks for any feedback on these units or brands them self.

Those look pretty stout. I have an OTC. 1000 pounder. I pretty much like anything that I can build fixtures for.

I've made attachments for most of the trans I do on a normal basis

I have owned many transmission jacks over the past 30 some years that are used day in and day out and none have ever failed hydraulically to my recollection. The part that does wear out and causes the jacks to eventually be replaced are the head and cradle. I would find the jack with the right weight limit that suits you then start looking hard at the rest of the jack. Can adapters be used or built? What is the range of adjustment? How easy is it to change pitch with one hand or maneuver the base under a load? Check the foot pump linkage and make sure it is sturdy, check lift per pump stroke and overall height. These would be my recommendations for making a purchase more so than the vendor. :waytogo:

well I went with this one as local supply was all over and I got a better price with tax over the ebay one from my old shop dealer contacts .

will give feedback when I get it and use it . http://www.affjaxx.com/airhydraulic....html?osCsid=4b41660ee137056bb3897169494ac8e2

most say no real problems and 1 guy was a dealer / warrenty service guy at a shop that sold them . and yes its a china unit but people say higher end stuff . will see.
