i am in need of new tires and need some input.looking at the 36" tsl radial or the 36" irock radial.my driving will include mud,snow,sand and some daily driving.i searched and cant seem to find any decent reviews.any input would be appreciated
 
iroks o.k. but what i have seen / read wear out fast. soft compound.

if me i prob do 35" or bigger bfg at/ko. good all around tire but not as good in mud as true mud tire. and if rotations kept up and alignment in spec guys get over 50k miles on them on 3/4 and 1 ton trucks.
 
i need something a little more aggresive than the a/t,they dont go that big in a 16" that i could find either.i wanted the km2 but nobody has got them.i need something that does good in mud,it is usually just me and my 4yr old son going out to wheel since not many people up here are really into an actual truck that can go somewhere.the tsls look like they would fit the bill but not sure on tread life.
 
Pretty sure wheels on here has 37" bfg mud terrain t/a's . Those look sweet.

and few guys have found the newer swampers have rubber dryrot problems these days so read up on this and be warned.
 
sorry i didnt make it clear,the all terrains are the ones i couldnt find in the size i want,the km2 are the ones i cant find in stock anywhere.
 
I've read the iroks wear out fast, but i have a few thousand on mine on/off road ant they still have the little ticklers on the sidewalls. Very very little wear.

In mud, they work great. In snow, they hop BAD. Turns the rig into a chatter box. Ice, they seem to stick very decent for no sipes. Sand, they hop as well. I have no blocks on the truck. It could be my suspension setup, but i dunno.

Overall, I really really like them. Mine are 36x13.5x16 and they were under my k5, now theyre under the SAS'd burb. They clean decent and are surprisingly quiet. Even at 75+mph.

Have you looked at Goodyear Duratrac?
 
I have a set of 37in iroks on my truck right now. It hasnt seen much street use lately. But does great in the mud and snow. But I have to say my favorite tires have got to be the military take offs. Around here you can get them cheap (50 a piece) and they wear great. Just my 2 cents.
 
i called 4wheelparts today and they dont have them,tried a bunch of places and nobody has them the story i get is national backorder
i had a set of 33" duratac and like them alot, i just want a little more height than what they go to.same with mtr with kevlar loved them just want a bit taller
 
While I can not speak of the off road ability (pavement queen), a good friend of mine bought a 50% tread set of TSL radials once in the 36" variety and daily drove them on a superduty. I was impressed by the how well they wore and how well they drove. Nothing like a bias TSL, thats for sure. Not sure on the mileage though. I'd consider them if they were more available.

I've seen a few BFG AT's break bands in the rear of 3/4 ton trucks. Two were mine. Probably the shortest lived tire I ever put on a 3/4 ton after those damn nittos, but they broke before they wore completely out. They didnt really shine anywhere but on the street. They were very pleasant on the highway.
 
SSRs! I put 20k on my 37" set and they were at 50% My 33's have 30k on them under a V3500 and still going strong. Best dual purpose "aggressive" tire I've run.:waytogo:
 
I ran a 36 swamper radial from new till bald and they wore very well and ran excellent on the street and even aired down worked excellent off road. Moved up to a 38" swamper radial and had similar results but wore a little faster and i was disappointed that they were no wear near a 38/15.5. with no load on them they were barely an inch taller than my bald 36. I wouldnt hesitate to buy them again based on how well they worked.

Well not sure about for you but at least for me there would be no sales tax and shipping for me it shows $65 but then again they ship out of Sparks, Nevada just a few hours away from me.
