today on my way home i was cut off and when i went for the brakes i managed to bend the 1/2 steel rod that goes from the brake pedal to the linkage on the other side of the firewall. it bent at the threaded part where is threads into the part that is attached to the brake pedal. im wondering if anyone has said linkage laying around ill take everything from the part that attaches to the brake pedal to the booster for a 1971 chevy K20 4x4 i believe anything from a 69 to 72 will work. this is my daily driver i dont have a backup car. any help in locating or getting these parts quickly is greatly appreciated.

Great source for those years, probably the best in CA. 100% the best in the Bay Area. But you could always scrounge pick-n-pull.

Yeah, i've known Bill for probably 20 years and he buys up EVERY 67-72 truck and 69-72 blazer that he finds. If they're clean enough he will resell the complete truck/blazer but if it is rough then he strips them down and stores the pieces for inventory.

you guys are the best, shooting off an email now. i knew someone on here had to have a bunch laying around somewhere all the local pick a parts here dont have any trucks older than 88

Yeah if I don't hear anything by lunch time ill call I actually ended up sending in a online parts request instead of emailing

bill had what i needed and alot cheaper than i though it would be, he said thanks for the referral. gunna pull the linkage out on Sunday and ill post pics still tying to wrap my brain around how it bent

ok here is the carnage took a while to get the pics off the phone sorry

this is the old booster bracket with the lever the rod that bent pushes on, the pivot pin was completely rusted and seized i belive it bound up and when i stomped on the brake the rod is what gave.

and i have a second question, this also may have lead to the failue, this is what i removed, the levers are facing the opposite direction of the one bill sent me id like a third opinion if anyone has a similar year truck to verify which way they face on thiers
