Here are two electrical pieces that I have. The small red plug is what I need. I only have one, but need two more. I need these for my smog hardware but am finding it difficult to acquire. Can anyone tell me where else these can be found? LMC has some that look similar, but they are calling them back up lights for a manual, or something like that.

The second piece is a mystery. I don't know what it is, prolly don't need it, but before I toss it I should probably find out.

Thanks

Finally, someone who can take good pictures.........:waytogo:

That red plug is really familiar. I have seen stuff just like it in several places, but not sure where to buy one.

If you have a parts house that has a "help" rack, they might have one.

If not, I'll bet you can find one in a junkyard. Its fairly common for a lot of uses.

I know someone will jump in about the black part, but the silver can on it is a flasher module.
Its either part of your turn signals or emergency flashers.

Oops, I just realized that the black box part looks like one of those integrated seat belt, key in, headlights on, dingers that I hate.

Nothing personal against them, but when I open the door in the turkey woods before daylight, I don't need something sounding off.

AHHH

Well the second part is going in the trash. I cut out the wires for the seatbelts and don't need a door/ key dinger :)

The red part is what I'm really looking for, as my smog is due May 22nd. :( I wouldn't mind buying some from LMC as long as they work. Kinda sucks though as they want 5-6 bucks each. I'm dummy wiring them so it's a huge waste of money.

The red connector is a Weather-Pack. I have seen this one on a solenoid that allows vacuum to the EGR valve. I don't know where to get it other than a junkyard, but the black version is easy to find and you may be able to modify one to fit. The different colors represent different keying of the connector, so you would need to add a slot or cut a tab, something like that. Having the two colors side by side should make it easy.

OK

I just got super lucky while out at the local junkyard. I came across about 10 chevy vans, all in the 80s. One of them had the plugs I needed. For the plugs + entry, I paid 7.25 for 2 plugs :( But that's a little cheaper than new and they should fit for sure....right? LMFAO I swear GM, what they hell are you thinking some times. Each female end has different notches to fit inside the male end. I was able to connect 2 of 3 plugs. The third was slightly modified to fit. Stupid GM.

Thanks for the links everyone, I've got them bookmarked for future projects. I should have used some of these multiple connectors for my gauge install. D'oh

This is EXACTLY what I did. I bought a Weather Pack connector kit from E-bay for $39.95 that came with 149 pieces.

Here is a set of 6 whole connectors, brand new with seals...

They do that on purpose, they "key" the connectors so they can't be plugged into the wrong thing and cause major issues(or worse fires) either at the factory or during repairs. It actually prevents a lot more problems than it causes. However, in your case, it was a headache.

There's a thread about this guy in the lounge: http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=285102 It looks like Scott figured this out just after he replied to him above. The guy is probably banned by now.
