Crazy longshot here! I found a thread on dieselplace from 2006 discussing a thread on this site from Ian about a custom spud shaft.
Here is the quote from Ian:

The real issue was the spline count on the Allison. 29 Spline, then we had to make up the length of the shaft with adapters. To do it again, I would have had the output of Allison Re-Splined when it was being rebuilt to a 32 spline output. That would have been the best way, but since we were the first people doing this anywhere, we kind of had to go blind. It did work out though.

I am charting new territory too. I'm putting a 2013 Audi 3.0 diesel and 8 speed auto into my Jeep JK. I need to find someone who can cut the Allison 29 spline male onto a shaft. This shaft will be a custom spud shaft to connect the audi transmission (49 spine male) to the Jeep transfer case (29 spline female)

Current direction: 49 spline audi trans output male to a 49 spline female to 29 spline male (for jeep transfercase converted to 29 spline), connected with a shrink fit joint and welded.

Next option is to go from 49 spline male audi trans. Use a 49 spline audi sleeve. Cut a 29 spline male to a spare audi 49 spline trans output shaft.

I'd also like to know how his adapters worked out over time.
