New guy here :)
I picked up a '75 K5 and am in the process of getting it trail worthy. I swapped out the NP203 for a 205 and am now having the drive shafts modified to fit.

I am looking for the bracket that bolts from the passenger side of the transfer case to the frame. I guess it is rubber mounted to the frame?

Will this bracket even fit with the cross member that came with the NP2-03 (which is now holding the 205. Is the cross member different?

Anyone know where I can find one? I'm not much of a fab guy but may be able to do it if I can't find one.

i checked the LMC truck site but didn't see it on there. any other truck restoration sites that may have it?

Also does anyone have a diagram of picture of how it mounts?

thanks for any help, I have learned a lot of this site!

Mike

i thought i just saw this, its on pg mid 40 something with all the rubbers and stuff.

Pics

Here are pics of the 2 brackets. One bolts to the transfer case. One bolts to the frame. The truck is my old 73 with a 205. That truck earned its way to all that dirt.:wink1: Pics courtesy of my new camera.

Here's what the bracket looks like out of the truck. I'm in the process adding a 32 spline out of a 78 which didn't have the holes drilled and tapped for the bracket. I had to grind down the bossed area level and will have to drill and tap the holes. Anyone know the bolt size and thread?

What year rig you doing this too? I think 73 and up had the rod that bolted on the side of the case and then bolted up to the lower Pass side bellhousing bolt. When I did this swap on my 76 K5 I was able to use the 203 crossmember- bolted right up.

you could always run without the bracket. my '80 doesn't have one. I've also broken two t-case to tranny adapters... I should get a bracket.

Anyone know the bolt size and thread?

IIRC it is 5/8" x 11 tpi

FWIW it is the same thread as the threaded holes in the passenger side of a D60.

Thanks for the pic's!
Yes I reused the 203 crossmember but assumed I needed this bracket as well for extra support?

Mine is a 1975.

The rod is a good idea if the L bracket doesn't work out. I used the rod that holds a 208 but it was too long. Cut a section out of it. Took a piece of tube and drilled some holes in it then sleeved the rod with it. Plug welded the holes in the side of the sleeve and around teh ends and it has worked well so far.

How nessesary is the bracket? I've seen a lot of trucks with out them, but I dont wanna break my equipment I just swapped in. My 205 defenetly has the holes for that bracket, and if anyone knows where to get these brackets I would install one as well. A truck can never be overbuilt.

Depends on what you do with the truck. If it sees little offroad or mild wheelin then you may be able to get away without it. If you bounce all over the place at speed you might want the rear of your t-case supported some.
