I want to see the difference of the dana 60 and the dana 44 front axles side by side if someone has them. Single pics would be all right to as long as i can see both axles. need to know what im looking for in a junk yard.

king pins and studs in the diff housing to hold the leafs on for a 60. ball joints and 4 u-bolts holding the leafs on. if you find one in a wrecking yard, tell me where at so i can go look there.

dana 60 's have no ball joints at all???? I thought there was some years that did, well thats what i was told.

The Dana 60 steering arm (top pic) has 4 bolts holding it on. The Dana 44 steering arm is curved and attached with only 3 bolts. Also the D44 has balljoints as shown in the pic.

The dana 44 has a u-bolt around the differential housing (yellow rectangle), and the Dana 60 has two bolts that thread into the housing (red circles)

Yes, what he said. If it has a place for studs, it is a D60.
90% correct. the dodges used 2 bolts on there axles with dana 44s . so look for the 4 bolt caps. and no balljoints.

I just figured we were talking about Chevy stuff?

It's good that you mentioned it for if the axles are already pulled.

Also you can't use only the king pin caps if you are looking for drivers drop fronts for SAS. Ford used king pin D44s in some F100s in early-mid 70s. For drivers drop you kinda have to know your stuff or scrape the web for the cast 60 since both the 44 (some) and 60s used on fords had Ubolts and king pins.
