96 Chevy 4wd 1/2 ton truck. Buddy's father's truck. Need complete rear axle. Prefer 14 bolt SF, but 10 bolt will work.

of interest?

are you willing to replace the bearings and shims? the reason i ask is i have a 12 b 6lug 373 but i hear a whine from it{could be a pinion bearing} it has new wheel cyl+pads .When i checked the gears the looked fine{very little wear} for me to yank it out and ship i would ask 250 +ship could be75 to 100? if you are interested i will get an exact ship quote.

A 12 bolt won't work. He has a '96 4x4, which means he needs a 10 bolt or a 14 bolt sf six lug axle from an '88 to '98 4x4.

They found a 10 bolt. They paid $500.00 for it. I was like WTF !!! $500.00 for a 10 bolt ??? I see people on here that can't give away a 10 bolt.

They are not the exact same axles as the 10 bolts under the 73-87(91) trucks. Different width and different spring pad spacing on them. Doesn't mean I think $500 was a good price either though. I'm sure they could have found a 6 lug 14SF for that price.

That's a good deal around here. The yards here get $800 to $1200 for a complete rear. The rear for the IFS trucks is about 3 inches wider than the old rears because of the positive offset wheels they use.
