So what is the easiest way to identify a 465? there have been a few people that i have emailed but got no responses so i will be going to pick-n-pull if these people dont reply back. So, i look for a 4 speed, but thats as far as i know...oh, and a really long shifter...what else do i look for?

My buddy josh...aka - brotha b - is a member here and has 2 sm465's with 205's if you want. They are in the for sale forum.

all the chevys were 465 for the most part in the 73-87 style. and till 84 or so were 10 spline output. when thay went to the newwer tcase style it was 32 spline.

you need the newer tranny . if you find one it might just be hydro clutch setup also. thay came with 205 tcases 90% of the time and in 74 i think it was the rare 203 full time case on it. guys love them for the dubbler kits.

32 spline 465's started in '81 with the intro of the NP208.

i have one (mated to a 205) on my side yard you can come look at for ID marks if you want
but just look in 68-91 GM trucks and odds are you found one (case looks the same on all of them) the trick will be finding a 32 spline unit and adaptor they seem to be hard to find the last time i was out at the PNP

Removed non tech stuff from thread at pshychoticdeadguys request.
