Wanted Looking for some '81-'87 tailgate latches and trunnions and '73-'80 front bumper brackets!

Hey fellas.

I'm in desperate need of some '81-'87 tailgate hardware. Looking for the latches/hinges and the trunnions that bolt into the bed stakes. My '73-'80 stuff won't work with this tailgate that I recently picked up.

I'm also looking for the front bumper brackets for a '73-'80 front bumper before I buy some 1/4" strap and make my own. Looking for the two long ones that bolt the bumper up behind the spring hangers and I believe the '73-'80 front bumpers used two "L" shaped brackets up on the frame horns, I'd need a set of those too.

Let me know what ya have and how much you want for it shipped.

I should have the center top L brackets. Just need to find the spot where I put them.

I believe the split for tailgate hardware is 1982 down / 1983 up.

Thanks for the info. I just figured it was '73-'80 and '81-'87 on the tailgate hardware.

The driver side trunnion that's in the bed stake is too large for the one on the tailgate thay I just picked up.

Let me know what you're looking for on those brackets.

It sounds like you have 1.5" trunnions and you need 1.25" trunnions (OD). But take some measurements just to be sure. I have an extra set of 1.5" trunnions that I picked up before I realized I needed the smaller kind. Free for thee if they work.

The trunnions that are bolted onto the tailgate have an O.D. of 1.5", I.D. is gonna be 1-3/8" or just a hair larger.

I need the trunnions that are bolted to the bed stakes.

The trunnions thay I currently have bolted into the bed stakes are 1.5" OD I'm guessing, I had a 70's tailgate on there thay had the trunnions built into the tailgate, didn't look to be removable unless I was cutting them off.

That tailgate was wrecked when I got it lol and now I've got another one off of an 80's truck that has the Chevrolet lettering over to the right side of the tailgate.

Yes, you need the smaller ones. 1.25" OD on the part that bolts to the bed side. Sorry I can't help with that, but I think LMC sells reproduction trunnions.

I saw some trunnions in one of the parts stores here. Looked like a Dorman replacement or something similar and they're at least half the price of LMC's.

I'll go in there sometime and check them out again.

The latches/hinges are another story. LMC wants some big $$ for those, the "2nd" design anyway.
