Hey Guys,
I found a np205 to replace my busted up 203 and I was hoping someone could get me some driveshaft measurements so I can see how close my current ones are to what I would need.

I am ultimately going to have a 350/350/205 setup so if you have the same setup and can measure your front and rear driveshaft lengths that would be a huge help to me.

It appears from that I can tell that the front driveshaft is the same length going from a 203 to 205 (with a possible yoke change on the 205) but I can really find anything about the rear driveshaft.

Also, if I go to the junkyard for driveshafts, did the blazer have the same length as any of the similar year trucks?

Thanks,
John

the front shaft will have to be shortened. The rear will have to be longer.

Every truck is different depending on axles, suspension, and the which trans/t-case combo It has. your best bet is to stick the t-case in, then measure for new or junkyard shafts

If I went full out and did the 203/205 doubler I would be able to use the exact same driveshafts though right? ORD says the doubler is the same length as the original 203 so I am assuming the driveshafts wouldn't have to change.

The rear driveshaft length would be the same. The front would need to be longer. That's part of the reason I have a doubler, to have the longest possible front shaft.

When I put a NP205 in my 74 GMC K2500 and ditched the NP203 it originally had,I was able to re-use the rear driveshhaft,it fit fine, but the front one was about 6" too long now...I eventually found one off a 1969 K10 that was only about 23" long, instead of 29" or so,and it had the same bolt up flange as the older NP205 I had put in it (out of a 72 truck),rather than the 4 bolt "ring" the NP203 used ..it fit perfect..(I later found out the 69's were the only year that had a short shaft too!)..

.it had real sloppy splines though!..sounded like a dozer with worn out tracks when I used 4wd!..but I was lucky to find one at all...
