Looking for some steering box info.

My crossover parts are coming in and I'm gonna be picking up a used 2x4 box soon. I have an LS so the ports need to be metric o-ring and I want to use an XJ shaft. Just trying to make sure I get what I'm looking for on the first try.

Just curious what year they switched the boxes to metric o-ring fittings?

Also, for the XJ shaft as long as the box has the metric o-ring fittings it should have the smaller diameter input shaft and would work with the XJ shaft, correct?

Yeah newer boxes are 79+ I believe

Rummage through ORDs site, that info is listed there in the steering box info
