hello,
i have a 77k5, 4' lift, 37tsl's and 3/4tons (14sf &10blt) 350,th350,and 203.
i came across a 83(i think) with no engine. and the body is in better shape then mine. (read lot's of cancer on the 77) the 83 has 10blts 700r4 and 208.
i have a 465 and 205 laying around out of a 81,
-can i swap the 205 to the 700 easily?
currently my parts consist of the 77, 465 & 205 out of an 81, 305 or 350 out of the 81 (never checked the numbers, never tried to start it just pulled it out) good front end for 81-87, (wanted to swap out the 77's) 2 203's (supposedly both rebuilt), one 203 with part time kit. windshield frame and top from a 75. and possibly this 83ish with decent body but thrashed interior and no engine.
what would you do?, keep in mind all my work is done in a one car wide driveway with no welder only a torch and hand/electric tools.
thanks guys.

i was thinking that, i'm just wishing i would have tried to run the engine from my parts truck before i pulled it. supposedly it did run before it was parked but it sat for a year and i don't know how well it ran. wonder how hard it would be to start it on a stand????? never tried that before.

ud be better off getting a th350 fixed yoke 205 with the 27 spline adapter. Then getting the 2" adaptor plate to bolt it to the 700r4, cause the output shaft is longer then a th350. i have a 700/205 combo thats what i did:bow:

Well disciples seems like the right approach for a small garage and hand tools so i'd go that way but i got rid of the auto. in my blaze and swapped pedals and all out of my 77 truck (350/465/205) into my 85 Blazer (305/350/20?). Lot of work IMO but it was sooo worth it in the end. I had very bad luck with auto. trannys

ive just been reading about the adapter and using the th350 205, but came across a post about hydro clutch on the cheap, and that is what kept me from wanting to do that in the first place, (getting the hydro bellhousing and MC...) so thats another possibility for me.

wrangler i think i'm going to do just that. drop her in and give it a go.

another question for you guys. with the 700r4, my 37's and 4:10's will i be reving to low in od? or will that work out allright?

it may be hunting...

i'm damn glad i found 1 tons with 4:56's in em, as opposed to 4:10's...

4:56's and 37"s puts you at about 1900 rpm's at 65. 4:10's and 37's puts you at 1700...

i'm putting a 205 to my 700 right now.. keeping the stock output, 350/205 adapter and the spacer is what i'm gonna run...

hmmmmm, now i don't know what to do. i like the idea of a standard, but also like the auto. and love the idea of OD. maybe i would be better off getting 35's and going with the auto/OD. that would bring it up a bit.

sorry just thinking aloud here.

any input more then welcome.
