Looking to purchase a trail welder, I’d like to buy a good one and be done. I have a Trail Weld arc welder at the moment, Luckily I’ve never had to use it. I’d like to get a mig welder for trail repairs, I want one that I don’t have to use three batteries for power. Looking at the Karnage welder and also the Premier Power welder. I like that the Karnage welder has a built in battery and is portable. I also like that it isn’t a spool gun. The Premier Power welder looks nice but I want a mig welder. Am I missing any others? Any I should consider? Thanks

I have used the karnage welder to fix a buddy’s trailing arm link. I was impressed enough that I’m going to buy one. Love the fact I can toss it in whatever vehicle I’m taking and not have to hook it to the vehicle batteries.

I agree with you on the Karnage welder, I like that I can take it in any vehicle or can send it with someone else if needed. I was all set to buy one soon then started wondering today if I was making the right choice.

I really dislike fluxcore welding, but when you’re out on the trail it’s better than nothing!
It welds hot as shit! You ain’t doing no sheet metal work, but it’ll weld an axle housing back together for sure.

My original choice was going to be a premier power welder on the K5. But after I used the karnage welder, I was like hey, I can toss this in the Jeep or the dually or whatever. They’re local to me and I’ve almost gone down there to get one a few times. Other purchases keep taking priority though.

I don’t have any experience with flux core welding. The thing that bothers me
Is not being able to set the heat for what your welding.
