Well I have been looking at k5 blazers for a while and found one that is in decent condition. the problem is that i dont know what its worth. i was hoping you guys could help me out like we do on the camaro forums and tell me what you think is a fair price for this vehicle.

1987 K5 Blazer
200,000 miles.
Engine rebuilt at 188,000 miles.
Moving, don't need it any more.
Tires are almost new.
Very good cloth interior.
New floor pans, seats reinforced.
Also could use new ujoints on the front outer half shafts.
Engine and tranny are fine.
There is some rust around the rear wheel wells.
plowed 2 driveways, for two seasons.
The exhaust needs a doughnut on the passenger side
the front left caliper is sticky.
It could use a front end alignment and a tune up. The guy I bought it
from, never had it realigned after installing a 3 inch suspension lift. It drives "OK" doing 65 down the highway, just pulls a bit to the left.
The windshield is cracked along the bottom but does not obstruct your
view.
Also I had to put a bracket on the alternator to the inner fender well. The
mounting bolt broke off last winter and I did not have time to extract it. It works well but you do get a little bit of vibration noise going down the highway.

id love to give you guys a link to the pictures of the vehicle but until i get five posts i cant posts links....

he is asking $3200.00 or best offer. (sounds pretty high to me)

Be warned to get replies from others here. I posted a thread to ask what my '91 K5 would be worth to sell and got some answers you won't like. Most were saying mine is worth "only" around $1500. And from the description of yours, mine sounds almost along the same lines as far as mileage and condition goes. Most said something like anything above $2000 would be pushing it or lucky. Even had lowball quote of $500, too.

Check the two side pics where you can see the guy's reflection. That thing has massive rust...I guarantee you will find nothing left of the rockers, innner or outer, other than scale/paint/dirt. The lower seat belt mounts are likely in the same shape.

I wouldn't go over $1200-$1500 on that, and only that high if I saw reciepts for motor rebuild.

Ditto man.

These trucks are old. Its not like it was 4 years ago. Theres loads of OBS chevys around for $4000. These trucks are old and people need to come to terms with that. I mean hell I cant even get $3500 for my truck and I bought it for $2500 3 years ago, rebuilt EVERYTHING and have like $8000-$10000 into it...

I agree. In my neck of the woods you can find Blazers all day for under $1500 in better shape. Here's what I found on CL in about 2 minutes.

yeah that is where the problem lies. since im in michigan 4x4's are expensive and cars/trucks are rusty thanks to the salt. i have until august to get myself a vehicle before i go back to the keweenaw peninsula for school, and hopefully some offroad action. plenty of logging trails and 200+ inches of snow every winter :) basically my budget is 3 grand and im thinking if everthing is like he says it is and he has proof of rebuild i might offer him 2200 or 2300. he lowered his asking price to 2800. that way i can fix everything mechanically, sell the plow, and have a buddy do the body work and still be under 3. if he truly is moving and needs it gone im sure hell take it
