Already have a 3/4 ton 85 Suburban... just a parts rig now. Body is shot.

85 K5 toy... all kinds of goodies done to it.

85 M1008. Tow rig. All stock other than 33s.

And the new addition will be an 85 M1009 to daily drive. :saweet:

I guess I like 1985 Chevys!!! Cant wait to get it next week.

Cool man. Where'd ya end up getting it?

Believe it or not... a Chevy dealership here in South Carolina. Its a vehicle from GA. Its mint other than some surface rust on the hood. Pretty strange actually since the rest is perfect. Working some trading in for my S10. I will post up some pictures. I hope to get it Monday or Tuesday.

Drive about as good as my wife '04 Silverado HD.

So excited!!! Already looking for a 4 inch lift and some 33s or 35s for it. :doah:

:haha:

Need to install a cigarette lighter and a radio. I am taking the system out of my S10 and going to put it in the K5. Gotta have tunes.

I say keep it stock(ish). Love that my Blazer still fits in a standard size garage.
Also with bigger tires you'll hate those 3.08 gears soon.

I forget...you move or just working in SC?

I dont plan on doing much... I need to keep myself in check that this is a street vehicle!!! Dammit.... street vehicle!!!! STREET VEHICLE!!!! :haha:

I think the 33s would be the best of both worlds. Might be able to get them in there with no lift and shouldnt change mileage in either direction much. Really just need to get it... drive it some and relook at everything.

I am working in SC for a year. Half over... almost. Was supposed to be a 4-6 month trip.

Well, at least you're out of the road salty winter ****. Could be northern Canada or something.

I considered some 33x9.5R15's or 33x10.5R15's before I went with my 265/75R16's. I like the stockish width but additional height and the fact that they have the same track width as stock. Fit great...in fact, I wish I had put 285/75R16's on it really.

Those are the two sizes I was looking into. It has the factory 15 inch wheels on it... and they are staying as I dont have enough to go for rims also.

Yeah, I was 50-50 between 15's and 16's but went with the 16's when I got a deal on here on my 16's.

congrats Ken on your new ride! You really do have a thing for 85's...

Work transferred you out of state eh?
