The doors on my blazer don't seem like they latch all the way when you close them. even when i close them really hard. is this a common problem? or has anyone else had this problem? any cures?

Check ur hinges. one of mine broke and i had the same problem. u shouldnt have to slam a properly adjusted door. if your hinges is broke you can get them from the junk yard, or go to lmc. otherwise you need to adjust your door.

losen up the door bolts on the mount, good place to start is look at the door and go start at the rings in the paint that were the other bolts. That only works if your putting non original doors on your truck.

with the door open there is a top hinge and a bottom hinge. top has 3 bolts 2 on the outside one coming from the inside. bottom has 2 i think. First i would look at the door (with it closed) and look at your gapes front and back. from there you can determine if the door needs to go front or back. also open the door just enough so you can see the stricker and see if it lines up or is hitting. you should be able to tell if the door needs to go up or down. basically figureout which way you need to move the door, then loosen the hinge bolts just alil bit so you can still open and close your door. get it where it needs to be and tighten everything up. You can also adjust minor with the door bolts.

(its usually alot easier if you loosen the bolt holding the fender on almost the whole way out so you have room to get your wrench in there.)

i took a look at the truck tonight, and it has pin stripes going down that aren't lined up at all, looks like i have to adjust it up a little, it's like it's sagging a little bit, i'll try to tackle that this week.

There are a few things with Chevy doors to look at. Pins and bushings commonly wear out and allow the doors to sag, this in turn allows the doors to chew the nylon bushing off the door latch pin. In my case I need the nylon bushings to fix my doors. That is the only reason that my doors rattle, other than that the doors would be perfect.

I replaced the door pins and new bushings along with new door strikers, it really made a diff. Door is more solid now. The bushings disinegrated when they were taken out.
