How do I tighten up the steering?It has around a 1/4 or more turn of slop in it.

Look for anything worn in the sterring system and make sure the box is not coming loose from the frame.

What did you find loose? Just curious as I've been dealing with my own steering issues.
Mine doesn't seem to be tight either, but I've replaced the steering box and tried to tighten up everything I can find.

My steering is tight, but my steering column is all loose. 76 Blazer. I think it's from all the white knuckle wheeling putting stress on it. The joint that is for the tilt steering seems to be real sloppy, has anyone else fixed something like this? Just curious before I tear it all apart to look at it, I don't want to break it worse.

there's a good thread on here with step by step. i started to do mine last week and finally gave up. it was easier to go to the junk yard and find one thats tight and just swap it in.

Well every thing but the ball joints are worn out.The PO didnt keep them greased.THISISWEIRD said:

if it makes you feel any better, i think i may have to swap my tie rods, idler arm and maybe wheel bearings on my 94 c1500. i keep the stuff greased up, but for some reason i developed a lot of slop, patricularly in the left side, a few weeks ago. i know a few of the grease fittings are cracked and broken, so that blows.
