My interior lights weren't coming on when I opened the doors, new jab switches fixed them.
Somehow I lost the gauge lights in the process. No fuses are blown . What in the world could I have hit?

I have to jiggle the headlamp switch knob and have the "dimmer" on it turned to just the right spot or my dash lights wont come on in my truck...

It could be the headlamp switch rheostat --you may have disturbed a wire going to the fuse box or HL switch too,or a ground wire--there is a black ground wire up near the E-brake assembly thats hard to see that might have come off or broke..

The only other wire I tinkered with was an orange one behind the glovebox. It was not connected to anything. It had a small connector on the end, I thought it may have went to a glovebox light or something. I'll get a pick later today if I can. I checked under the steering wheel by the fuse box. Didn't see anything wrong but I want to check behind that panel. Can't imagine all the bulbs blew out at once...

The dome light wires on most GM's are orange and white, they are also the same wires that power the courtesy lamps under the dash, thats probably the orange wire you saw,it might be for the glove box lamp also..

It's highly unlikely all the bulbs failed at once--the printed curcuit on the dash may have fried but you'd have seen and smelled smoke if that happened..more likely you dissconnected a ground wire while you were working under the dash----some trucks have a "bus bar" near the base of the steering colum with multiple ground wires on it,check for that and see if any wires came unplugged---or maybe the light switch circuit that powers the dash bulbs failed (also rather unlikely)--look good in the fuse box, most Gm's have a separate fuse just for the dash lamps and also a spade terminal that's labeled "PNL" where you can hook up other lamps like on aftermarket gauges, that will come on with the dash lamps when you pull the headlamp switch out..
