Last year I missed out on going, and they had about 10 rigs go with. This year about 15 rigs were anticipated, and I promised Sam, who put it on, that I would go. So I kept my promise this year.
Maybe it was because I went, but there turned out to be only 3 trucks and 3 4-wheelers. Anything I'm involved in= low turnout.
Anyway, it was just Sam riding with Marvin(since Sam's Jeep is apart) in Marvin's '72 Chevy with a 350, 4spd, 205, 6" lift, 12-bolt, Dana 44, 4.10 gears on 35" Toyo Mud Terrains locked in the rear;
Eric in his Chevy shortbed on 44" Boggers with only a 4" lift, 496 stroker big block, Dana 60 front, 14 bolt rear, 4.10 gears, locked in the rear, TH350/203;
And me in the '83 K30 6.2 Diesel truck with my homemade 3" lift, 35" BFGs, 4spd/205, and open 14-bolt and Dana 60.
With both trucks going before me breaking trail, I was doing pretty good despite still dragging my differentials through the snow (even after both other trucks made tracks), except for one spot where we all stopped, and whenI took off, it slid me sideways. Eric tried pulling me back onto the tracks but it just kept me off to the right bank and tried dragging him that way too; so he just punched it and drove pulling hard left until we hit a corner and my rear corner went over the edge and the rear pumpkin high centered on the ground. It was a good thing for Marvin's winch. It got used alot that day.
