What's up with that? Been that way for a LONG time. If I put the clutch pedal in while I shut the engine down, there's no jingle. Makes me wonder if the throw out bearing is spinning on the shaft or something. The transmission operates very normally. thoughts?

Mine was only broke on one side. One of the teeth that goes into the throw-out bearing was Gone.

I replaced it with:

It's been a while and I can't find the packing list, but I'm pretty sure that was the one I got.

Now, I'm not saying that's the cause, but , from what you described, that's VERY similar to what I had.

Hope that helps.

Plus, I replaced my clutch, pressure plate, throw-out bearing, pilot bearing, and flywheel at the time, ...so, again, I'm not exactly sure.:D

Mine makes noise when I shut it down off. Unless I shut it off in gear and coast to a stop while pushing the clutch in. My problem is the trowout bearing. Still shifts fine, does not whine...just a little rattle when I kill the motor. Been that way for a year or so. Not something I plan on pulling the trans to replace (unless it actually comes appart).
