I have a question I just bought a cheap 78 3/4ton 4x4. I lined up 35s, 4" front springs. Here's my question, is there any reason I can't trim a window out of my rear spring hangers gusset the top and do a inexpensive shackle flip. I assume there is a reason this won't work or others would be doing it. Just thought I would ask

thanks

Yes, it will work. Quite a few people on here are running that setup. Search "home brew shackle flip"...it has been covered quite a few times.

Hey thanks. I been on this site awhile...and just now found the search button. Too busy lookin I guess.

Thanks again!

I'm not sure the way your talking about but most people will use the rear spring's front hanger to do their shackle flip on the cheap. THat's what I plan on doing. So you will need to source a shackle hanger off of another truck. Hope this helps.

There are better "cheap" routes. You can use the front hanger, of the rear spring, off a 2wd to act as the new hanger/shackle flip.

This is 85mudblazin's old pic: I believe he still uses the hanger, but not the same shackles.

how much is the lift with the 2WD rear shackle? I have unfortunately only a 4" all leafs lift kit installed. No I'd like to rise about 2" front and 3" rear. Would simply work with 2" and 3" Blocks, but the shackle flip looks much better.

you can vary your lift height by were you mount those. higher on the frame means lower lift.

and to do that I just need a rear hanger of a 2WD Blazer? My shackles will fit just right away?

you need a front hanger of a rear spring. from any chevy 1/2 or 3/4 ton truck , 2 of 4wd. just go look at yours, and get another like it.

okay, now I got it. Found the front hanger on LMC-Truck. Do you think this hanger will go for 2 or 3 inch of extra lift?
