i recently had my ball joints with Moog joints, the upper ball joints have the grease zerk in an eccentric location for easy greasing. i went to grease my front end tonight and found that the grease coupling on my grease gun is to thick to fit on to the zerk insofar as the outer diameter is too large to clear the kingpin. the part that physically attaches to the joint is the correct size.

are there any companies that offer a low profile coupling to fit in tight spaces?

I use a taperd needle tip on my gun to grease zirks, Cv joints, ECT that i cant fit a regular grease fitting to.
It is not a needle like you find on a syrenge but a thin tube that tapers down just enough to fit in to the little hole and push the ball back that seals the zirk fitting. You simply remove the regular grease fitting on your gun and screw on the needle tip.
Most auto parts stores carry them. They work great.

Even cheaper is to buy a longer zerk for greasing purposes then reinstall the short zerk or a plug when all done. The long zerk should only cost a couple dollars.

that is also a good idea. makes me mad the way they are now. i bought those ball joints specifically because the uppers have the grease zerk in an eccentric location, which should make them easy to grease.

Back in the day when i had a D44/10bolt axle i had the Moog ball joints and you just need to be careful when installing the upper joint to make sure you get it positioned just right so you can get to the zerk easily. When mine were installed i could get a grease gun on it with no problems.

i could also try a different grease coupling. i have a heavy duty one on not that is much larger outer diameter then a standard coupling, that is more what i was asking about in the original post.
