I hate that unused bottom area of a 73-87/91 door, with that weird 'vent' thing. Usually, the most I see is badly mounted speakers.

I think it'd be cool to get a new panel down there with storage pockets. Not the carpeted stuff, but more like a solid, molded piece like you see in modern trucks. Could be a cool fiberglass project...

I'm just gonna make a panel out of the composite I've used on the rest of my truck... it'll match the back panels I'm doing.. I actually have the glass for both, but obviously I have other chit flying now.. when it comes out of the garage in the spring I'll do it...

diamond plate would be cool, especially if it's run in the back too.. I really dont see a need for anything other than flat, except maybe some bump-out for speakers...

I'll do some speakers I suppose at some point. but stereo stuff is SO far down the list...

I don't know... I dislike the wasted space, hence the idea of adding the compartments. I also prefer the speakers in the kick panels over the doors.

Diamond plate is a bit too...common for me anymore, although I still like it in some apps...

actually you just gave me an idea.. thank ya... I'm thinking of adding some hard compartments to mine with the speaker...just like 3" deep, for maps and stuff... easy to do with the composite..

speakers in the door are fine for me... my kickpanels are gonna be the composite too.. but I dont want to give up foot room, so no speakers...

soft pouches should be easy to do on some sort of flat panel..

"Soft pouches" was the term that was escaping me, so thank YOU... :D

I prefer the hard stuff on new rigs. That's kind of what I'd like to fab up for mine.

Yeah they are cheap enough I think it is worth trying. If nothing else maybe they will be a good foundation to build from in fiberglass.

Ive thought of cutting some metal in there and do a type of storage compartment or leave it as droors.

Ordered a set from JC Whitney, should be here by the 17th. Just remember when you order them they are that price for each, not a pair. They say you can use them on either side, but I don't see how if you get the one's with the drink holder. I ordered the one's w/o the drink holder. They should mount on either side.

Make sure to post pics once you get them installed.
Will do ! Had to order new clearence lights as well. Being a K30, it has the holes from the previous ones and the old ones look like $hit. I went with the stock Chevy style on the clearence lights.

I'm looking forward to your oppinion on these.
Not real impressed, so I didn't mount them yet. I was a little disapointed about there size and fit. They are pretty small,(I know they gave dimensions,but...) and there is no where to mount them where you don't have to fill a gap to keep small stuff,(letters, maps), from falling thru the crack. I could easily modify them, but I'm not sure if I will use them or not.

Could you post a pic of the actual product you got? I'd like to see the gaps you're talking about.
