Lower the Drive Train

Has anybody lowered their drive train by flipping the spacers on the transfer case cross member? /forums/images/graemlins/burb.gif

Is that safe?

I've done that with a 6 inch lift on my Jimmy, I believe that this has been done by a lot of others also.

I know a couple of members here have lowered there drivetrain. I'm talking about custom mounts for the engine and trans. Mike (the current GM of the month on the homepage) has his lowered like 5". I had just my trans/t case dropped 2" with spacers made from bar stock. /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

I did that on a 85 suburban I use to have w/6" lift worked fine no problems and it was my daily driver.
