I did a search and couldn't find anything, so here's the question...

I want to drop my divorced transfer case a bit. I'm guessing that the output of the trans and the input of the transfer case must be as close to parallel as possible. Anyway, how far down can I go? Is there some formula with relation to length of driveshaft?

Well it is all about retaining optimal angles for the yokes on your intermediate shaft. Im sure you could go a couple inches, but that also depends on shaft length

I installed a 4" system on my '75 Highboy and now am thinking of dropping the divorced 205 an inch or so. The angles shouldn't be much worse than what they are now between the tranny and 'case.

So, you're driveshaft wasn't perpendicular to the trans output and tcase input to begin with?

Do you need to drop it for the rear shaft angle or just clock it fo r the front. I always read you want your intermediate shaft as parrallel as possible.... although a little angle pry wouldn't hurt an long as it was kept inline.

Don't need it for rear shaft since it's a crew cab, it's just that my driveline sits pretty high. My goal is to get the front shaft the same as the rear shaft. We'll see if that works out.

Id rotate it before dropping it. My 07 it pretty tall and the divorced case is just about on the same level as my frame.

Zero front driveline issues too.

Nope. Its got a slight rake as it sits now. Dropping it an inch on this truck isn't going to hurt anything.

My driveline sits pretty high up in the frame and I will either need to lower the transfer case or cut the floor (or raise the body, which looks like the best option).
