What cam are you guys using In these

I ran a stock cam with 4.10's, 35" tires and a 5.3/700r4 combo. No issues for me. The problem I saw with any cam other than the stock LM7 was the loss of torque down low. Even the LS1, LS2, LS6 and LS7 cams pushed the torque curve up 1,000 rpm up the curve. Most of the aftermarket cams do the same. I've not gone back to look at the newer cams out now so there may be so more truck-centric cams out there that don't sacrifice low end torque so much.
 
I had the 5.3, 4l60e, 35s, 4.10s in my blazer. It could have really used a set of 4.88s.
Ended up going a different route and now its a LQ4 with a LSA supercharger

I have the BTR Stage 2 Truck cam in my 5.3. Been happy with it for the most part. I never drove the 5.3 stock in my swap in truck so I don't have much to compare it to.

Current set up is, 5.3/4L60E/D60/14B/4.88/35's. If anything, I could use a little more power up top. It runs/drives great, but when on the highway at 70-75mph, when you go to pass someone it seems like you have to give it more throttle than necessary to get the power you need. Not a huge deal and probably not directly related to the cam. More of a 6000lb truck with a smallish motor issue. Any other time I don't feel like there is a lack of power.

The BTR stage one or two truck cams are what you looking for. Go onto YouTube and search for Richard Holdener and he does a comparison between a few of the truck cams in a 5.3.
