So after swapping k5 for the 4th time( 1st used engine blew up,2nd engine atk performance engine threw a rod at 20 sec at start up,3rd engine atk replacement started knocking after 30 min start up 4th a 6.0 with stage 2 cam and top end rebuild). S0 after it's all been said and done the 6.0 lq4 that's in. Currently starts and idles great but after it gets up to temp. if I turn it off it will take at least 15 to 20 sec to try and catch and turn on, with a really rough idle then it will turn off 3 of the 5 times. I have hp tuners I'm running a base tune on it with just a bit or bump at idle for the cam. so far the psi at fuel at rails 58 psi.I've changed out crank and cam sensor with no luck. Just looking to see if anyone else has ran into this issue. Any help is appreciated.

What are the fuel trims doing while this is happening? I'm wondering if you're losing either MAP or MAF and it's running bad on the other one. Typically they are all MAF, so you only notice a bad VE table when MAF is lost.

Or it could be the intake gaskets start leaking after a heat soak?

It's definitely not the intake gaskets while nits running I've hit it with carb clear and noticed no change in idle.

Yeah it's complete. Idk if it's the elgin sloppy stage two cam that's causing the issue or a tunning issue. I've checked all power checks out at both pcm and pig tail to the cam sensor.

After alot of reading on multiple threads it looks like it might be the cam? I think I'm going to remove it and swap it to a texas speed cam and see if I get diffrent results.

I'm not seeing the connection, how it runs fine from a cold start, while warm, but the cam causes problems only on hot restart?

I agree that's why I'm curious about the cam. Even if it's a big cam that shouldn't change hot start/cold start.

228/230 duration @ .050” with .585”/.585” valve lift and 112 degree lobe separation angle. Here is the online info I found

Check that all of your grounds are good. Also double check your temp sensor. I have a bad temp sensor in my LS converted Nova and at warm idle it caused a surge issue in Neutral but not in gear. taking a data log will help as well

All grounds are good and accounted for. I even added additional ones directly from the battery. But it didn't make a difference at all. I got the choppacabra cam from Texas speed Friday and plan on throwing it in tomorrow.

Yeah me too I was hoping for good power out of the 6.0.
