This is an engine swap from a 2003 Chevy Express to a 1986 K5 Blazer body. I have an issue where my power steering pump is designed to run a hose to something remote (not sure what - see first picture below). I just need the "old style" cap with built in dip stick to check fluid level (see second picture below). Have any of you guys run into this scenario before, and if so what did you do to fix it? The hos in the picture doesn't go anywhere... it's just cut off at the end.

You can swap the covers for one with a built in filler, but why not keep it and run a remote reservoir ? I'd like to do that with mine.

its just missing the remote can that bolts to the core support.

i would hit a yard and grab a can and hose and run that . more capacity and also so much faster to check fluid level when you pop the hood.

So you're saying there's a "jug" that sits on top of this hose and mounts to the fender well? Is the hose supposed to stay full of fluid all the way up to the resevoir "jug"?

yep bolts to firewall or core support on vans.

and its the level checker and fill point on vans . also some have return nipple for hydro boost.
