You must consider, the engine is shorter in length, wider, and set back more than a normal GenI/II smallblock.
I got a set of headman torque step full length headers for the k5 i'm going to be trial fitting in another weekend or so here Those look like they'll be even worse as far as clearance... Probably gonna end up voiding the warranty on these headers!![]()

The 465 won't work with a f body flywheel. tried it. Had to order the advance adapters thicker flywheel. You'll also need a crank pilot bearing spacer. You should probably get an adjustable ball stud and you might be able to use your stock bellhousing and throwout bearing. Mine just barely worked out.
I already had my hydro clutch setup working and bled, which uses a late 80's clutch master cylinder and an 80 toyota slave cylinder on a custom bracket, with about 5' of line between the two. That made it easy to see if the clutch was going to work or not, bolted it up just dangling the engine on the cherry picker, without even having to install it.
why not just cut the firewall out and build a plate that can be taken off like the vans? or even why not go a step further and bring back the engine like the old gassers for the 60s, or even prerunners that move the engine rearward. awsome center of gravity.
...hmm just thinking.. if you did move it back then itd move all the drivetrain stuff pretty far back and then the shaft would be too short in back. ehhh forget it i'm thinking outta of my ass.
