Ok cant find a straight answer, very seriously considering swaping in a 5.3 but still retaining my 700R4 and going with a manual valve body. question is, i believe Gen III motors use a different style convertor, can i use one from a 4L60E??
You can buy a spacer from GM performance 12563532 that will take care of the different flexplate offset. Converters are not interchangable between a post '95 4l60e and a 700r4.
If you use a throttle cable style throttle body you can adapt provisions for the TV cable and not have to go with a manual valve body.

ok super thanks greg. well game plan was to go with a reverse manual valvebody, mainly b/c i lost my tv cable and yeah they are only 18 bucks from GM. and im lazy, but i will prob use a cable accuated tb just for simplicity and not having to use part of the interior harness. plus a 23 lokar shift stickin up through the floor looking like its a 4spd has a nice sex appeal to it.
